GENERAL INFORMATION
What is included in my holiday?
A Lingua Holiday is very flexible, typically including accommodation, lessons and a half-day afternoon tea lesson with your teacher. You can choose the number of lessons and their duration, and any number of excursions.
Are all holidays for a fixed one-week duration?
No, you can choose any number of days.
What happens when I arrive in the UK?
You can make your own arrangements or book a private transfer directly to your apartment
ACCOMMODATION
Can I choose which part of London I stay in?
Most of our accommodation is in in Camden, Fitzrovia or in the heart of London’s West End. These areas have been chosen specifically for their proximity to London’s principal attractions.
What facilities are provided in the accommodation?
All apartments are equipped with a range of utensils, crockery, cutlery and appliances, in addition to fresh linen and towels.
How do I gain access to my apartment?
You will be given full details regarding key collection before the holiday.
When should I arrive at/leave the property?
Check-in time is 15.00 and check-out time is 11.00.
LESSONS & LEARNING
Can I choose how many lessons I take?
The number of lessons you take is completely flexible but we recommend a minimum of around 10-15 hours per week.
Can I choose what time of day I take my lessons?
Most of our guests prefer morning lessons but our teachers are happy to work round your preferences.
How much English will I speak?
This depends on the number of lessons and activities you take. We encourage our guests to speak at least 2-3 hours per day and to practise their English when they’re out and about in London. As a one-to-one or private English lesson is much more intense than a group lesson in a language school, you can make rapid advances with just a couple of hours a day.
Can you tell me more about Lingua Holidays’ teachers?
All our teachers are trained native English speakers with extensive experience in teaching English as a foreign language to adults and children. Several have taught business English and many have their own families so know exactly what children like and don’t like doing!
ACTIVITIES & EXCURSIONS
Are the excursions private?
Yes, any excursion or activity you sign up to will be exclusively for your party.
Is it possible to take excursions to locations outside of London?
Yes, we arrange day trips to several places, including Brighton, Oxford and Cambridge, with your English teacher or, for those with higher level English, with a Blue Badge Guide.
Can you recommend restaurants and book theatre tickets for me?
We certainly can. Being based in London, we can give you plenty of information on where to go and what to see.
